I have been noticing that a lot of the brands I work with have decent product and editorial images but are lacking in emotional, engaging content.
Shooting polished video can be expensive and time-consuming—and require strong content and and storytelling leadership.
Sourcing quality UGC content can also be challenging for many brands.
Something I wanted to try recently was whether we could commission UGC-style video content—content that looks and feels genuine and authentic and that tells the story of the products in an engaging way.
We worked with The Loft 325 to produce a series of UGC-style videos showing the features and benefits of the products.
I didn’t want to spend time and money custom-building theme sections so we used Tolstoy to create a UGC-style video carousel.
And, lastly, we wanted data to validate the experiment, so we used Shoplift to split-test without and with the video content.
With an average 46% increase in conversions across all visitors (and a whopping 88% for returning visitors), the results strongly speak for themselves.
