Shopify Introduces Oversell Warning & Inventory States in POS

Shopify now features an oversell warning and confirmation system in its POS. When an item is sold out or committed to another order, a warning message will alert sales staff. Staff can choose to complete the sale, save the cart, create a Ship to customer order, or remove the item. This system uses inventory states to show quantities committed to other orders, available for pickup at another location, or incoming on purchase orders or transfers, helping to reduce overselling and maintaining a positive customer experience.
