Shopify Introduces New Granular Staff Permissions for Orders

Shopify has introduced 12 new granular staff permissions for orders, replacing the previous single 'Orders' permission. These new permissions include viewing orders, managing order information, applying discounts, setting payment terms, capturing payments, marking as paid, fulfilling and shipping orders, buying shipping labels, handling returns, canceling orders, deleting orders, and managing abandoned checkouts. This change gives merchants more control over staff access to specific order actions. Existing staff with the previous 'Orders' permission will automatically receive all the new permissions to maintain compatibility. Merchants can further refine these permissions as needed for more granular control.
