Shopify Introduces New Granular Staff Permissions for Draft Orders

Shopify introduces 7 new granular staff permissions for draft orders, enhancing control over specific actions.

Updated on

Previously, Shopify had a single Draft orders permission that allowed staff to view, create, edit, and delete draft orders, as well as set payment terms and process payments. Now, there are 7 new granular staff permissions: View draft orders, Create and edit draft orders, Apply discounts, Set payment terms, Charge credit card, Mark draft orders as paid, and Delete draft orders. This change provides merchants with greater control over staff access to draft order actions. Existing staff members with the original Draft orders permission will automatically have all new permissions selected for backward compatibility. Merchants can customize these permissions as needed.
