Shopify Increases Section & Block Limits in Templates

Based on feedback, Shopify now allows up to 25 sections per template and 50 blocks per section. Despite this increase, specific themes or developers may have lower limits. This enhancement supports customizations such as adding more blocks to an FAQ section, multiple ‘profile’ sections on an About Us page, various focus areas on the homepage, and support for very large collections. Note that the number of sections and blocks doesn’t impact storefront speed, but using videos and high-resolution images might. To add new sections, navigate to Online Store > Customize > Add Section > Add Block.
