Shopify Enhances Ship to Customer Workflow in Cart

Shopify has enhanced the Ship to customer workflow, allowing modifications to shipping orders in the cart without losing in-progress data. Previously, staff couldn't edit or exit the cart once the Ship to customer order process began, limiting updates to customer details and product items. Now, shipping customer information, address, and method must be added at the top of the cart. The system also auto-selects the best shipping rate, notifying staff if changes in the cart affect this rate. Importantly, certain permissions are overridden to streamline adding customers during checkout. A validation error appears if customer details are incomplete.
